Our gorgeous Melbourne based customer Saskia had a friends wedding to attend recently and wanted to wear something extra special for the special occasion! Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
The special occasion was one of my closest friends wedding day. I chose this beautiful Zimmermann designer playsuit for a few reasons but mostly because it was a special occasion and I really wanted to look my best. I don’t often dress up so to wear the finest in fashion and designer dresses is somewhat of a treat to me. I’ve been keeping my eye on this one for a while as I liked it from the moment I saw it in Zimmermann windows. As much as I would love to own it permanently; my finances just don’t allow it, and to be honest how many more times could I wear the same dress?
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
It really was an opportunity to go ‘all out’ and dress up to a level I wouldn’t do for say a night out or a dinner. This was a top notch venue which required a unique and beautiful outfit and this Zimmermann playsuit just ticked all those boxes for me! Also I knew this was my chance to wear something new and fun, it was going to be warm and I knew I would be dancing all night so the light material and comfiness of the shorts on the bottom really worked out well – especially on the dance floor!
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
To me Zimmermann has always been a beautiful and unique label – it’s soft fabrics, fine finishes, floral patterns and stunning yet subtle details all make for a stunning piece that makes a real statement without being ‘showy’. As mentioned earlier I chose it mostly because I have loved it from the first time I saw it in store and when I tried it on I just knew it was perfect for me, not only was it the right fit for my body – it was so comfortable! I wanted to buy it then and there but a spare $650 is something I just didn’t possess. When I discovered GlamCorner was offering it for rental I was so excited! It was my chance to own my favourite piece for a short while without spending a fortune! YAY!

Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
I have rented from GlamCorner before and both times the dress arrived in the highest of quality and with plenty of time for me to try it on and play around with accessories to match. I guess my first time considering renting a dress came down to two things 1) realising that even if I did spend a lot on a beautiful dress how many times would I really get to wear it? Was it a ridiculous price for potentially only wearing it once maybe twice? Yup! 2) The price! All the dresses I’ve rented have RRP of more then $400 each to rent them for $69 or even $120 (even better when they have flash sales and discount codes) i think its great value especially as they include the postage bag and dry cleaning – it really is one less thing to worry about the next day when after a big event you’re not feeling up to heading out and spending unnecessary time and dollars at the dry cleaners.
Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?
Online actually. I think it was Instagram. I had heard of ‘renting’ items before but had been hesitant to use them as I was unsure they’d arrive on time, if they’d fit and all the dry cleaning issues that could happen – what if they’re closed, and worse, what if they ruined the dress!? But your website was so easy to use everything from your models not being ‘supermodels’ size 6 and 10 ft tall to the sizing hints such as this dress has stretch or we suggest a size up or down was so unbelievably helpful! After much browsing I finally decided to book one and I haven’t looked back since!
How was you overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?
I honestly cannot fault GC – Your service has been nothing short of exceptional – always prompt, friendly and helpful. The greatest thing that has happened is that my last rental arrived a week early! This gave me ample time to prepare my outfit! It really was a nice touch and made for a completely stress-free time on the day of the event. I would mostly definitely recommend GC to other women – in fact I already have! And when people gave me compliments I had no hesitation in telling them I had rented it from GC! They quickly got out their phones, pens and paper and wrote down the website! They couldn’t believe such a thing could look so good and be so easy! Especially my mum – she is blown away by the concept and says she used to dream of such a service back in the 70s!
