Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to get dolled up and embrace all the love in the air whether single or coupled up. When I think of Valentine’s Day date outfits, I instantly think of fun, flirty, fresh and feminine styles! Embracing the colours of ‘love’ – reds, pinks and feminine florals as well as incorporating some of the seasons most romantic trends – off the shoulder styles and ruffles.
So whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with a dinner date with your significant other, a movie night with the girlfriends or going against tradition by having a date night with yourself, having the right outfit for this loved-up holiday is a must!
The day only comes once a year – for some of us this is a relieving prospect! But you can’t deny the warmth and buzz you get from all the love in the air. So why not step away from your usual style and mind-set and go all out and embrace the glitter cards, the love heart choccies, the PDA’s, and the barrage of interrogations from family members!
Without further ado, here are some of my favourite pieces to wear this Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day Date Outfits
1. MANNING CARTELL ‘Gallery Views Sheath Dress – Scarlett’
This stunning Manning Cartell dress is a vision in red! The colour of love, this scarlet dress would make a perfect Valentine’s Day date night outfit paired with nude heels and simple jewellery. Featuring a plunge detail neckline and crafted out of signature Manning Cartell lace inspired by abstract animal prints, this dress is the picture of romance.
2. PASDUCHAS ‘Composure Midi Dress – Tuscan Rose’
This bodycon midi dress by Sydney label Pasduchas features this seasons on-trend off the shoulder neckline in a Valentine’s Day Tuscan Rose. This gorgeous dress features a batwing sleeve detail and would pair wonderfully with gold accessories with hair long and loose in romantic waves. Perfect to impress your date on February 14th.
3. SANDRO ‘Peaches Lace Dress’
Delicate and exquisitely feminine, this peaches & cream dream of a dress by Sandro is perfectly romantic. With intricate lace detailing, self-tie bows along the back and fit & flare skirt, this dress is made for a romantic night out on your own or with the person you love!
4. SELF PORTRAIT ‘Tiered Broderie-Anglaise Mini Dress’
In a deliciously gorgeous raspberry-red, this Self Portrait tiered mini dress is a fresh and feminine way to dress up for Valentine’s Day! A plunging V neckline and open back is fitted with an internal bandeau which maintains modesty across the bust, and the dress is also adorned in this seasons ruffle trend, broderie anglaise, and jour-échelle trims.
5. ZIMMERMANN ‘Winsome Flutter Playsuit’
A list of Valentine’s Day date outfits wouldn’t be complete without a flirtatious playsuit! These fun & cute creations are called playsuits for a reason – they are made for play! This lavish Zimmermann playsuit oozes femininity and romance and is perfect for a fun night out with the girls or date night with the beau.
Don’t Forget Accessories!
Accessories complete any outfit/look. Embrace the tradition of Valentine’s Day and opt for some gorgeous pink accessories; whether in a clutch, headpiece or jacket! A pink clutch such as this Chevron Quilted Pod by Olga Berg is a clever way to incorporate the V-Day hue without having to go all-out on red and pink. Simply style with slim jeans and a simple white tank top for a casual yet chic Valentine’s Day outfit.
Yes, Valentine’s Day can make some of us want to hide under the covers and gorge on choccies while watching Bridesmaids on repeat. But why not embrace the day in style and and make the most of all the love in the air?! Whether you’re going out with your best friends, staying in with your favourite DVD and a glass of red or on the date of your dreams making smoochie faces across a candlelit dinner; make the most of this loved-up day and get dressed-up to feel your very best.
Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers!
