In this post we chat with a woman who needs no introduction, the enterprising 'Queen of PR' herself: Roxy Jacenko. In addition to being an absolute nuclear weapon of PR, author, reality TV celebrity and mother, Roxy's involvement in the Sydney fashion community brings with it certain expectations in terms of fashion standards - and Roxy certainly never disappoints on this front. Roxy shares with us how she balances running her multi-million dollar PR, talent and business empire with her dedication to her family while also maintaining her her personal style and acute sense of what's trending in fashion:
Who is your biggest style influence?I wouldn't say that any one person is my style influence. I tend to draw inspiration from lots of different people and the latest runway trends, interpreted for my lifestyle. Working in fashion PR you need to stay current and on-trend, so it's important for me to do a wardrobe overhaul at the beginning of each season and inject fresh pieces.
Essentials in your wardrobe?Regardless of fashion, there are some things that are always in style and work with the trends of the moment. Excellent quality basis such as great-fitting white tees and denim are a must for me, as well as timeless pieces such as my Chanel jackets and Hermes bags which I always hold onto!Must haves for the cooler season?I am a huge fan of Balmain blazers, the cut is amazing and very flattering - always on high rotation especially during the cooler months. For this winter I think navy tones will be big, so I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for new season pieces in those richer colours.
How do you like to unwind after a long day?Unwinding and relaxing isn't really my thing - I tend to not switch off. However, my absolute favourite thing to do is to just be at home with my husband and kids. For me it is the ultimate way to unwind.Best kept fashion secret?Don't try too hard! Just have fun with it and wear pieces that you love - research the latest trends and designers by all means, but make sure you interpret them for your lifestyle and unique look.Tell us about your forthcoming seminar?Off the back of a hugely successful first PR and Marketing seminar in 2015 called In Conversation with Roxy Jacenko, I decided that 2016 called for a supersized version in partnership with Popsugar. This June we’ll be taking over the Ballroom at the Shangri La in Sydney and will host some 750 guests to talk all things, PR, Marketing, Digital and making your way in business even without that degree!
