Tell us about your event and why you chose to wear a designer dress for it?
I work in the horse racing industry and run a social group called Young Professionals in Racing in my spare time. Our Autumn season launch party was coming up at Royal Randwick. It’s always one of our biggest events of the year so I wanted a standout dress but didn’t want to spend a fortune. I jumped on GlamCorner and found plenty of dresses that fitted the bill. The hardest bit was settling on one!
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
An outfit for the races can become quite expensive once you factor in the dress, millinery, hand bag, shoes and accessories. That’s before you even get to the track, buy a champagne or place a bet! Hiring a dress for a fraction of the retail price allowed me to spend more money on the rest of my outfit. I also love that I don’t have to clean a hired dress at the end of the day. Dry cleaning is expensive and hand washing is a pain!
What made you choose this dress and designer? Have you ever purchased from this designer before?
My friend Ava Jaxon made me a beautiful light blue and gold crown to wear to the races so I used the filter on GlamCorner’s website to search for all blue dresses. This gorgeous dress from Elliatt caught my eye straight away. I love the off the shoulder style (and wanted to make the most of it before it gets too cold) and the slim flit and mermaid hem flatter my figure. I’d worn one dress by this designer previously and found it to be comfortable and flattering as well. I hired another blue dress as a back-up. I didn’t end up needing it but now that I know it fits and looks great on I will hire it for another event down the track.

Was this your first time renting a dress? If so, what made you consider it?
No, I am total renting convert now! I am at the races twice a week for work and often have to be dressed up. Going to the shops to find outfits is time consuming and expensive and I’m glad I’ve found an alternative in GlamCorner. It’s a godsend! The first time I rented a dress I was pretty nervous but being able to add on a back-up dress for $15 made me feel better. Both fitted anyway. Once I did accidentally order the wrong size and only realised once I tried the dress on but I contacted Glam Corner, mailed the wrong size dress back in the satchel I was provided and the right size dress arrived the next day. Phew!
How did you come across GlamCorner?
One of my friends recommended it to me after I complimented her on a beautiful yellow Thurley dress she wore to a party one night. I am forever indebted to her!
Did you enjoy your overall experience from beginning to end with GlamCorner? Would you recommend us to other women?
Yes, it was so easy. I enjoyed looking at all the gorgeous dresses on the site and saved a few in my favourites for future events. The dress arrived a day early and was packed so it came out the box in ready-to-wear condition. I was supplied a pre-addressed satchel to post it back. All I had to do was pop it in the post box. I received lots of lovely compliments on the dress and felt great wearing it. To be honest if I had bought this dress there’s no way I would get the wear out of it. I couldn’t wear it regularly because it stands out too much. That’s the beauty of Glam Corner. You can wear a standout dress every week without spending a fortune or feeling guilty that it’s hanging in your cupboard not being used! I’d recommend Glam Corner to anyone!
