Get ready ladies, one of our most favourite times of the year is coming close where Aussie fashionistas and celebrity A-listers gather to celebrate fashion and culture at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia! Presenting innovation and art with performance shows of collections on the runway from Australian and International designer brands.
For 2019, MBFWA has become the forefront of committing to bring sustainability and environmental consciousness to the spotlight and we’re so excited to announce that we are the First Official Sustainable Fashion Partner of 2019 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
Sustainability at GlamCorner
At GlamCorner, we take fashion sustainability very seriously and believe that our circular economy clothing rental model can benefit our environment and community in so many ways by diverting waste from landfill. Our Mission at GlamCorner is to revolutionise the way fashion is consumed by providing a smart and more sustainable alternative that is better for our community and our environment. Along with becoming a Sustainable Fashion Partner at MBFWA, here are some of the most exciting milestones we’ve achieved since:
B-Corp Certified
GlamCorner has a B-Corp Certification which means joining an emerging group of for-profit companies that are using the power of business to create a positive impact on the world and to redefine success in business by not just being the best in the world, but also to be the best for the world.
Awarded Terracycle’s Top Business Collector for 2017 & 2018
We’re a proud partner with Terracycle and have earned the title of Terracycle Australia’s Top Business Collector for 2017 and 2018 means that we have collected the most units of hard-to-recycle waste than any other company. The company then re-uses, upcycles and recycles the waste instead of incinerating or sending to landfill.
Red Cross Partnership for Earth Month 2018
To celebrate Earth Month 2018, we’ve partnered with Australian Red Cross to promote the recycling of pre-loved clothing, the reduction of Fashion Waste and to showcase the benefits of Circular Fashion. We offered customers a convenient channel to donate and recycle pre-loved clothing and give them a new lease of life via GlamCorner’s nationwide return-delivery network.
Banksia Awards
We’ve been awarded the Banksia Foundation’s Sustainability Award for medium-sized business at the annual awards gala in Melbourne 2018. GlamCorner being recognised as one of Australia’s sustainability leaders and innovators has deepened our sense of responsibility to revolutionise the way Australian women consume fashion and apparel.
Launch of GC Premium (beta) service
GC Premium is a new service we’ve recently introduced by popular customer request. We’re helping our customers breathe new life into their everyday wardrobe without the burden of ownership while being kind to their wallets and the environment.
The Community
Most importantly, without the support of our GlamCorner customers, we could not have achieved these milestones alone. Our customers make their own contributions by supporting us with their continued use of our products and services. The reality is that the global fashion industry is now the second highest polluting industry on the planet and by offering a rental service, we help give life to our customer’s wardrobe without the throwaway factor or buyers remorse.
Sustainable Fashion Partner at MBFWA 2019
Becoming the First Official Sustainable Fashion Partner is another milestone to add to the list and for this event, we have some exciting things coming up so stay tuned via our social media channels and sign up to our newsletters to stay up to date!
