Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
When attending a corporate function at Melbourne Cup Carnival it is important to ensure dress attire is fabulous. It is one of the only days of the year when you can dress up and add extra details to ensure you feel good and look good.
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
My dress style is more relaxed and casual so it can often mean searching for the perfect dress for days. Being able to search online for a dress and have it delivered in a beautiful box and a return postage parcel makes it so much easier! I am a full time nurse and a mother so shopping at times can be difficult due to shift work and having a toddler in tow.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
I know my body shape and what works for it. Zimmerman is always a staple in my wardrobe. I appreciate the materials that are used and the cut/shape of the Arcadia Stripe Slouch Dress. Reading other reviews was a way that I was able to assess how the dress would fit on me.
Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
This is my 3rd time renting from GlamCorner and every time it has been a smooth process. With my last dress hire, it was too small and GlamCorner delivered another dress to me free of charge to ensure I was not left without an outfit. The dresses have always been clean, well pressed, delivered in beautiful packaging and the friendly reminder service afterwards reminds me so I don’t forget to return it!

Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
I rented my dress for Melbourne Cup day and attended the big race with my best friend. Melbourne Cup is all about style and fashion and why not go all out with something that makes you feel a million dollars but stays within the budget? I wanted to step it up a notch but not blow my race day budget on something I might only wear once. Plus I didn’t have to fork out on dry cleaning, it was all sorted for me!
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
Melbourne Cup is one of the biggest events on the Melbourne racing calendar and I wanted a piece that would stand out but also be comfortable for the day, with a designer name to it to make me feel glamorous without costing an arm and leg. I have wasted so much money, time and energy on buying dresses that are still hanging in my wardrobe collecting dust. By renting from GlamCorner I’m supporting local, am able to choose from so many amazing designers, AND I don’t have to leave the house to do it!
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
When you think Melbourne Cup you instantly think glamour, but you also want style and something that will be timeless and a little different too. I chose the Bronx and Banco label as I have tried their dresses before and they fit my body shape really well so I don’t have to worry about them not fitting me right. The Navy Positano Dress is definitely one of my favourites that I’ve worn and will probably try the white one next! The lace detailing is so pretty.
Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
I’ve only ever rented with GlamCorner and I keep coming back because it is just so easy, how I never did this for all of the other times I needed a new dress for a special occasion I will never know. I especially like the ‘Back-Up Dress’ option and the ‘Advance Try On’ option too, you don’t have to panic that you need to go emergency shopping at the last minute because you’ve already got your options sorted early.

The special occasion was the Melbourne Cup Races at Randwick Racecourse. It is the biggest race day of the year and the dress code is bold, flamboyant and fashion forward. I wanted to wear a designer dress for the day and because I could not afford a full price designer dress hiring was the next best option.

This was the first time I have rented a dress and it was a stress free and pleasurable experience. I loved the choice of designs, customer service and value for money. Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?
I first discovered GlamCorner online as I was looking for rental dresses that I could hire for future events. I was looking at a value for money option, normally you can spend $250 + for a dress that you wear once or twice and don’t wear again.
