Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
The special occasion I attended was for my cousin’s hens party. It was the perfect back drop for a summer weekend on the iconic, Darling Harbour. The hens was 10-15 of her closest friends. We jumped on board around 5pm and had food prepared for us and champagne to sip. All whilst we were sailing under the bridge with a beautiful ombré sunset of pink and orange in the distance. Since the occasion was more intimate and special I decided to hire a dress.
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
I wanted to wear a special outfit since it was my cousin’s hens party. Most of the girls from the bridal party wore white, so I wanted to veer off from wearing something similar to them. My average style of clothing is more simple and minimalistic. Simple top with a fun bottom or vice versa. So for this occasion I wanted to wear a dress with a statement attraction piece that will make the night more memorable.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
Upon researching the designer Zimmermann, 2 words encapsulates the designer perfectly – “feminine and flirty”. I have always wanted to wear something from the brand but was never really able to afford it. I didn’t hesitate to browse through the designer label and was happy to choose from all of the selections. The hardest part was to choose which one to wear! However, most dresses only had few sizes in my size so I was happy with the pink play suit that I chose.

Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
This is my second time renting from GlamCorner. The previous time was for an engagement party. It was a black and white/Gatsby theme. Again, I wanted to choose something that would be memorable for the night. It’s what started my obsession with hiring over buying full price. Basically more wardrobe has gotten bigger with the selection online!
For your first time renting a dress, what made you consider it?
I first discovered GlamCorner via Instagram. I follow a few designer labels, bloggers and various female socialites. I was scrolling through my feed to find an outfit for the engagement party and there was a photo upload of this person with a beautiful dress and they tagged the designer dress label and also GlamCorner. I didn’t know of GlamCorner at the time. I was scrolling and an hour later I was obsessed! I was immediately excited to start hiring straight away. I was thinking “this is genius! I can wear a dress at a fraction of the price!”
Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner? How was your overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?
My overall experience with GlamCorner has been fantastic. Hiring a dress has always been the most pressure when it comes to an event. The early delivery was a surprise and a huge plus which makes the rest of getting ready a breeze. I like the email reminders and text reminders that I get regarding when the dress is arriving and when I should place it in the mail box. I would definitely recommend GlamCorner to my friends. Some of them have already started browsing through the website to see all the different dresses to choose from. I’ve sent one of my friends the $20 refer a friend voucher. She was super excited to receive it. Now we’re both getting ready for our next event to hire a dress!
