Tell us about the occasion and why you chose to rent a designer dress for it?
The event was a combined engagement party and 30th birthday party for my partner Fiona, so it was to be a momentous occasion indeed! Leading up to the event I was fairly blasé about finding a dress, thinking I would just wear something I already had – but when I gradually realised how big the event was going to be (as the planning all started to come together) – I started to do some online browsing a fortnight or so before the event with the intention to buy a new dress. Then I truly started to panic when I realised I didn’t really like a lot of the items that were within my price range!
Fiona had already browsed some dress rental sites and recommended I have a look at GlamCorner – I was thrilled when I was able to pick out a number of dresses I loved the look of within the space of a half hour of browsing.
What made you choose this dress and Designer? Have you ever purchased from this designer before?
We were hiring a photographer for the occasion and we really wanted our outfits to pop against the bright décor of our venue. I’ve never worn much red or dresses with so many frills/tulle, but the dress was an absolute statement piece and the cut and shape looked incredibly flattering. I thought if there was any occasion to wear something so flamboyant, this would be the day!
I’ve never purchased from Thurley before, but I had read wonderful reviews about their flattering cut and styles. I felt especially more confident with my choice when I read the reviews by other wearers. I have a fairly athletic figure so can be a little boxy on top; I was pleased to see that the ladies who raved about the dress had a whole variety of body shapes and sizes – it was clearly a miracle dress!

Was this your first time renting a dress? If so, what made you consider it?
Yes, this was my first time renting a dress. I was initially quite hesitant as I wasn’t sure what would happen if I wanted to make alterations or it arrived and it simply wasn’t my style.
Reviewing people’s reviews and photos reassured me greatly, especially when they provided their body types and measurements. In addition, GlamCorner’s ability for you to hire a second dress for only a small additional fee was a wonderful surprise and definitely a plus if you can’t decide between two gorgeous items.
How did you come across GlamCorner?
Through my gorgeous fiancée! She also hired a dress and headpiece from GlamCorner for the occasion. She wore the Antionette Sleveless Dress in Sky Blue by Elliatt, and once I had hired my dress she also added on the matching fascinator (Maya by Morgan and Taylor) which was in red and complemented my outfit nicely.
We were then able to translate the red and blue colour scheme into other details of our event – red and blue flowers, and red and blue paint on our cake – and received many compliments on our styling skills!
Did you enjoy your overall experience from beginning to end with GlamCorner and why/why not? Would you recommend us to other women?
Ordering from GlamCorner was an absolute dream. The dresses arrived early and were packed delicately in tissue paper and sturdy cardboard boxes. The return, postage paid Express Post bag came inside, with clear instructions as to how to return the dress. We also received handy text message and email reminders the day prior to the return date and on the day of. We didn’t even have to organise dry cleaning! It was a little sad to part with such a beautiful dress but I was reassured by knowing that I can rent it again whenever I like!

I understand Fiona originally got charged a new postage fee when she ordered her headpiece, but when she emailed to explain that it was an add-on to her original dress order they were more than happy to combine the shipping for her items. Customer service was impeccable.
I would not hesitate to recommend GlamCorner for any woman’s next special occasion! We have even joked that we may hire our wedding dresses from GlamCorner as well.
