Our beautiful customer, Hannah, chose to wear the ‘Ribbon Playsuit’ by Kookai to Derby Day in Melbourne. Perfect for the white & black theme that Derby Day requires, this playsuit features a blazer style and skort design making it a classic and sheike piece. Read more about her experience below.
Tell us about the occasion and why you chose to wear a designer dress for it?
I rented an outfit from GlamCorner for Derby Day which is part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. I chose to wear a designer dress as the races are an iconic fashion event where everyone aims to look their best. Derby Day, being black and white themed, is always a tricky one as you are more limited to outfits than other race days. It’s always good to find an outfit that people may not have seen worn too many time before, so I thought GlamCorner was a great place to rent an outfit from.
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
Renting a dress for this event was appealing as I wanted to wear something a little different, and that meant I probably wouldn’t wear it again after (especially with all the photos we take!). The races is also such an expensive day. By the time you buy a ticket, food and drinks for the day, get your hair and makeup done and probably buy a new pair of shoes – the cost of the day can get a bit out of hand. We all know being a girl is expensive, so reducing the cost of your outfit is always a bonus. Renting was such a great option both financially and practically.
What made you choose this dress and Designer? Have you ever purchased from this designer before?
I chose this dress and design because I’d seen it online and really liked it. I liked that you could wear it with or without the belt, and you could also dress it up and down depending on your style and the type of event. With the races in Melbourne, the weather is always unpredictable and as it’s a long day outside (and possibly into the night too), so I loved the idea of wearing long sleeves. I wasn’t too hot or too cold at any point during day. I have purchased from Kookai before, and I know the quality is usually pretty good which is why renting it didn’t bother me as I knew that even if it had been worn a couple of times, it would still look new.

Was this your first time renting a dress? If so, what made you consider it?
This wasn’t my first time renting a dress, I have rented a number of times but it was my first time using GlamCorner. I really like the idea of renting, as I’m sure many girls can relate, that so often we buy outfits and wear them once, and then they sit in our wardrobes until they go out of style. I love being able to wear a dress once and then return it so that I’m never limited to outfits for an event. There’s outfits for rent for every price range too, so no matter the budget or the event, there’s always an option.
How did you come across GlamCorner?
I think I came across GlamCorner on Facebook, and then I started following the page on Instagram. I kept seeing some beautiful dresses popping up and when I actually went on to the site for the first time, I couldn’t believe how many options they had.
Did you enjoy your overall experience from beginning to end with GlamCorner? Would you recommend us to other women?
My overall experience using GlamCorner was amazing and I absolutely would recommend to other women. Having the dress delivered to my house, and being able to send it straight back after is so convenient. I work full time and wouldn’t have time to go out and pick up the dress so it worked perfectly for me. GlamCorner also take care of the dry cleaning which is also another stress you don’t have to worry about. The other great thing is having the option to order a backup dress for a small price because there’s nothing worse than ordering a dress online and it not fitting right before an event. Overall, such a fantastic service. Thanks GlamCorner!
