Our lovely customer Jessica and her partner had planned a big wedding for October but were gifted with the happy surprise of Jessica’s first pregnancy! This meant she was unable to fit into her original wedding dress, and she needed to find something flattering and beautiful that would also fit her growing baby bump, without breaking the budget. Jessica shares her experience of renting our Grace and Hart ‘Valentine Gown’ in white as her gorgeous wedding dress.
Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
My special occasion was my wedding!!My fiancée and I had planned a lavish wedding for October this year. We were then gifted with the most amazing surprise – we were pregnant with our first child. Given that the original wedding date and our baby’s due-date were so close, we decided to post-pone our big “wedding” and celebrations until after our baby was born and instead chose to have a very intimate ceremony with our immediate family and best friends.
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
I had already purchased my dream wedding dress last year for the October wedding, and now with a quickly growing tummy, this was not going to fit! For our intimate ceremony, I still wanted to really feel like a bride, without having to spend a small fortune! Renting was a great option for me as it meant I could wear an amazing designer dress at a very reasonable price.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
I actually ordered two dresses from Glam Corner for my wedding – the Self Portrait “Pleated Crochet Floral Maxi Dress” and the Grace & Hart “Valentine Gown”. I had organised a try-on of the Self Portrait dress a few weeks prior and in my mind, this was my wedding dress. When I went to complete my order for renting, I was offered the option to add on an extra dress for $15. I thought the Grace & Hart dress was gorgeous and for $15, why not add another option for the day! On the day of our wedding, I tried both dresses on for my Mum and we both knew right away, the Grace & Hart “Valentine Gown” was ‘the one!’ It hugged my curves perfectly, including my baby bump, the lace was gorgeous and I felt just like a bride!
Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
I have rented dresses before, but this was my first time renting from GC. I would 150% rent again and will definitely recommend to all of my girlfriends. Not only were the dresses packed and delivered immaculately and on time, the girls were so helpful when it came to assisting me with sizing etc.

After countless hours searching online for a dress, one of my girlfriends actually suggested hiring and recommended GC.
How was you overall experience with GC (online and offline) and would you recommend us to other women?
My experience was perfect! The girls are so helpful, dresses are in perfect condition / are great prices and the process is so easy. I can’t wait for another event so I can rent from GC again!
