Tell us about the special occasion you had and why you wanted to wear a designer dress for it?
I originally intended to hire a dress for my pre-wedding photos, but due to a last minute change with my photographer, I ended up wearing it to my medical school’s annual gala dinner. As it was our final ball of medical school, it was a huge occasion of celebration, and I knew that everyone would be looking their absolutely finest (and I most certainly didn’t want to miss out!).
What was it about this occasion that made renting a dress so appealing for you?
After 6 long years of medical school, it was a time for us to get together and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished and all that is yet to come. It was an opportunity for us to let down our hair and indulge in a great evening of fun and dancing with our fellow classmates. I knew I wanted to wear something amazing for the night and renting a dress just seemed like the most stress-free and budget-friendly option.
Tell us about the dress and the designer label you chose, and why you chose it?
I hired the absolutely lovely Grace & Hart ‘Renaissance Gown’. I had been dress hunting for a while and I fell in love with the gorgeous lace style of this dress and felt it was the classic style I was after. The quality of the lace is fabulous and it was such a great fit. I loved that you could wear a strapless bra with it and it was extremely comfy throughout the night. The quality, thickness and fit of the fabric underlay also meant I could eat my 3 course dinner without having to worry about a food belly showing!

Have you rented a dress before or was this your first time?
After falling in love with this dress in a local Perth boutique, I knew I couldn’t justify purchasing it for a single event, and so renting seemed like the perfect option. It was my first time renting a dress and it was such an easy and stress-free process that I’m kicking myself for not considering it earlier! I also talked my friend into hiring a dress for the ball as well, and we ordered them together through GC. It was super exciting when we got the huge (and beautifully packaged) box in the mail.
Tell us about how you first discovered GlamCorner?
I first discovered GlamCorner through a recommendation from someone online – I had posted a picture of the dress I was hunting for on a Perth Ball Dress facebook group and someone suggested GlamCorner.
